“If not for partnerships like this one, my students would be entering college and the workplace with disadvantages that are not considered by modern educators when designing the learning scheme for current students. The Armory provides WHSAD students exposure to an arts culture that is sorely missing from modern public education.”
— Principal, Williamsburg High School for Architecture and Design
The Armory works closely with the teachers and administrations at our partner schools over the course of the school year to identify specific curricular areas to support through ongoing exposure to a variety of art forms. Armory teaching artists design and facilitate in-depth residencies which engage students with the Armory’s unconventional art and commitment to historic preservation, providing tangible, real-world connections to their classroom studies.
